Dawne is developing a circular economy computational model for cellular agriculture supply chains. She will be identifying synergies between unlikely actors who could exchange resources – such as leftover crops on traditional farms sent to cultured meat companies to be used as raw inputs for culture media. Her model will be available for industry stakeholders to inform how to build the field.
The resource exchange informed by a circular economy model could design an industry where nothing is wasted – simultaneously decreasing costs and increasing sustainability. Now is an ideal time to identify these opportunities, in advance of companies investing in production facilities and establishing supply chains!
